Position Overview:  

Recruitment Managers play a critical front-line role in building talent pipelines for each of Commongood’s client engagements which differ in mission, functional, and geographic areas.  This position joins a team of authentic, high-performing relationship-builders. Reflective of Commongood’s approach, Recruitment Managers work relentlessly in service to internal and external clients. Specifically, Recruitment Managers have primary responsibility for cultivating a network of the most talented leaders in the social-impact field, connecting them with opportunities at some of the most impactful organizations in the country, and keeping a pulse of the social-impact sector overall.
Recruitment Managers will be responsible for achieving the following key results:
  1. At any given time, directly manage a portfolio of searches
  2. Achieve 100% successful placement rates through the generation of robust candidate pipelines in collaboration with Search Consultants
  3. Maintain a high level of client satisfaction across all engagements
  4. Contribute to the ongoing  growth and development of Commongood Careers through the building and refining of search tools, processes and other best practices
  • Actively develop and build networks and partnerships that bring exceptional talent to Commongood Careers, including conducting extensive research to identify high-quality talent throughout the country 
  • Serve as the recruitment expert for each engagement by providing strategic oversight of activities to source and cultivate prospective candidates
  • Partner closely with Commongood Careers Search Consultants to manage relationships with nonprofit organizations and provide a high level of client service
  • Participate in targeted networking events in Boston and nationally in order to continually cultivate a network of nonprofit professionals and stay up-to-date on trends throughout the sector
  • Partner closely with the Vice President of Recruitment in order to continually build, sharpen and innovate our recruiting strategies
  • Conduct informational interviews and provide advice and career guidance to professionals interested in working in socially entrepreneurial organizations in order to evaluate their potential fit with positions being managed by Commongood Careers
  • Work collaboratively with the Commongood Careers team to lead and/or participate in other organizational projects to enhance the overall effectiveness of our service model and delivery

The successful candidate will possess many of the following attributes or experience:
  • At least three years of work experience in a nonprofit setting, preferably small-to-mid-sized, growth oriented
  • Experience having represented an organization externally
  • Belief in the power of people to drive an organization’s mission forward and the desire to connect top talent with high-impact organizations; specific recruitment experience is preferred, but not required
  • First-hand knowledge of the nonprofit / social impact sector
  • Strategic relationship-builder with outstanding interpersonal and persuasive communication skills, a naturally outgoing personality and an ability to quickly make connections between people, networks and organizations
  • Professional experience in a role that requires the use of strong project management and research skills
  • Confidence in self-initiating and self-directing workflow; aptitude in balancing a vast array of projects simultaneously
  • Innate customer-service orientation and relationship management skills with outstanding time management and organizational skills
  • Team-player with a results orientation, flexibility and a sense of humor who is looking for an opportunity to have impact across the sector while continuing to learn, grow and develop as a professional
